Mahindra Thar has been around since 2010 and there is no doubt that the car had a cult feel even though it was rude and limited in its appeal. Now a new one has come in and we have penetrated it carefully. This, of course, surpasses the old car in many ways. The new car is getting better, more practical and more universal, and yes, comparing it to the old one is something everyone is looking forward to. So this is it.

Mahindra Thar Comparison Review

Think of old Thar as John Rambo! He tackled all the problems at the old blood and intestinal route. By comparison, the new Thar is like Captain America. Sophisticated, uses modern technology, yet still as deadly and efficient as Rambo. Captain America dresses better, just like the new Thar!

There are nice details like the name “Thar”, which is embossed in the mirror. You have the mHawk badge and this car has 18 inch wheels that tell you it’s on LX trim. There is no doubt that the car was inspired by all the legacies that existed in the previous generation. But there are changes like the raised hood as pedestrians fall safely. The wheelbase is also much stricter. You still have the hinges exposed and some elements transferred and the large screens, all the upholstery and of course all the super wide cushions contribute to the posture.

But when you put the old and the new side by side, you see the development. The new Thar retains the boxed silhouette, but the front grille is very different. It’s a very clear conversation. But with the retro-round headlights, the Mahindra Badge lowers to the top of the previous generation. But in general, you will immediately know that this is a new Thar, and the good part is that he is very recognizable as Thar. This is the finish; it’s ironwork. You can immediately see that Mahindra has made it a little higher in terms of quality.

The huge variance besides the style is the interior. We’ll get back to that. And then, for the first time, an essence was added. Plus, automatic options for both types of fuel. 2.2 diesel is mHawk and that means you know it in advance. It delivers 130 hp and 300 Nm of torque. The essence of the matter is the new mStallion series. A 2-liter GDI, I mentioned earlier, gives you a little more power, actually giving you 150 hp and 320 Nm of torque.

The old Thar once had only 2.5-liter diesel with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It growled tons, yes! But no refinement! And this is where the two models again are as different as they can get. Mahindra has also admired a number of potential buyers with the new car by offering rugged and lifestyle versions. The new Thar has two variants LX and AX. The AX or adventure area is aimed at purists with 16-inch wheels, rear seats and will have a little less equipment. The LX or lifestyle line gets more features, 18-inch alloy seats at the front and rear. You can choose between a hard cover, a soft top or a convertible top with removable panels. By comparison, the old Thar had only rear bench seats, only a soft top and was only for sale in a variant.

Now the cabin of the new Thar feels much better in terms of sophistication and the materials used. There is a 7 inch touch screen that shows adventure statistics and also has modern smartphone connection. The top models also have a digital display and multi-information display and steering wheel controls. The car’s speakers are mounted on the roof, so it is safe from water and dust if you really want to get out into nature!

So many people loved the idea of buying the old Thar, but never did it because it was impractical for everyday use, not family-friendly and sticky inside. The new genetic model is trying to change everything! The new Thar is therefore a big step forward and will eventually become the car that many have always wanted the Thar to be.
